Could you list your fish to get an idea of what the heavy bioload looks like? Does your skimmer run idle?
I also have a 210gal but I only run a sro3000int and it goes thru periods of being idle it seems. I have about 21 fish total and I would think my bioload is heavy as well. Plus, I only do water changes every few months.
My fish:
Dussumieri 6"
Yellow foxface 6"
Powder blue 5"
Desjardini 5"
Blonde naso 5"
Clown tang 5"
Hippo 4"
Kole 3"
Three yellow tangs 3" each
Red coris wrasse 7"
Melanarus 6"
Flame angel 3"
Two Perculas 2.5" each
Matted filefish 2.5"
Longnosed hawk 3.5"
Watchman goby 3"
Emperor angel 3.5"
Starry blenny 4"
Yeah, that stuff is nasty, when I dump in down the drain, even though the sump is in the basement the wonderful odor can sometimes make it upstairs much to everyone disgust!
Reeflo Orca 250 rated upgraded to be rated for 1300g for my 260g display and additional 120g of system volume. I know a little overkill, but figured when I get the 500g+ that I wont need to upgrade skimmers.
