Protein Skimmer

To all you large tank reefers, what is a recommended protein skimmer for an appx 300 gallon system? I know to overshoot the factory rating right?

I guess I'm looking for more recommendations on brands, etc.

Well, there are many good skimmer out there. I believed everyone ofus have different taste, and ways that we all want to set up the way we wanted. I personally recomend BNK or Deltec skimmer those two are my favorite.

I have the ATB 10.5 deluxe on my system which is about 450g twv and its a best. I am always amazed by how gunk it pulls out and I have never had an ounce of trouble with it.

Reef Octopus has been good to me so you might want to try the SRO 5000 int or ext. Depends on your setup.

what are you planning on keeping in tank ? you wanting internal or external ? do you have some sort of budget ? all things to consider.

Great skimmer for the money. the Xp line is a little nicer and if another $100ish doesnt scare you go with an external if you can

I have an xp-5000 external on my 330G tank (over 400g system volume) and plan on heavy stocking. Even with the light stocking I have now it pulls a lot of stank out!
