New skimmers take time to break in. Some take days. Some take weeks. Provide us the skimmer. In the meantime, you can play around with the gate valve to minimize overflow for the first few days.
I put in the adjustment value and got the flow to where the form was just reaching the top of the collection cup inner tube. But I had to lower the collection tank lower into the water. Not sure if it makes a difference or not as long as the flow is ok,
I see the value of these skimmers but this is a new piece of equipment I have not had before
what is the correct level for the collection cup or does it matter. I have read that 1/8 inch below water level is correct but that is just what I picked up on the web
