Psammocora... ?

wondering what kind of psammocora it is...

Someone had a "plate" with multiple mouths on a thread here, no one was quite sure exactly what it was. That's definitely an LPS. Psammocora is an SPS. This is my Psammocora (there are other colors/various growth patterns).


This is about as good as polyp extension gets on these.
 
that is a nice coral you got there !

I've post theses photos in the lps forum too...

here is a pic of another coral that was sold as a psammocora this summer in a LFS here...

I know there are many species of psammocora, maybe some have more polyps extensions than the other ?
Or some fungias have many mouths :) !

I think we have a winner with the lithophyllon undulatum...
diasteris distorta seems to have an clean circular growth edge that my frag doesn't seems to have...

will update this thread after some growth :-)
