This is kind of a trick question as youboth are sort of right. This is a female P. smithvanezi, but is beginning to show some features of becoming a male. The second dorsal spine is starting to elongate and the bluish white on the top fork of the dorsal are what are signaling the transition.
Wasn't intended to be a trick question, at least not in that way. I did intentionally not mention that it was a princess figuring that if somebody didn't know what fish it was they were unlikely to be able to offer an informed opinion on gender. Have pored over the many fish books (and online) and couldn't make a definitive call. Maybe a 'bit of both' is the right answer :lol:
