Pseudochromis fridmani

My fridmani spawned this morning, likely for the first time. :bounce3:

The female still had some eggs hanging out of her in the morning while the male is not leaving his hole, even at feeding time where he is normally never missing.

So baby fish can be expected within a week from today. Since I'm not set up for raising them I will likely just let them go. But it's good to know they finally started. I have them together for 4 months now.

I never had it take that long, but these are both ORA tank raised and the male was initially smaller than the female so she didn't accept his dominance for months, even after he had outgrown her. Additionally the female had a serious infection with a large hole in her side for almost a month. I was already afraid she had become sterile due to this.

Now I have finally a good reason to start building a larva tank and get the copepods ready to feed the larva.
