OK, cut is done.
I mounted the Canopy on top a another frame for temporary testing of the swing slide joint and doing painting and light fixture installation.

The light fixture is ordered and will be installed into the Canopy.

Great job.
The Canopy opens as expected.
I can turn the front like a trunk and then I can slide it back.
So that is plenty of room for top access to work with the entire upper body in the tank
without taking off the Canopy.

Kudos on your woodworking skills. It's going to be a very fine bit of cabinetry when you are finished. I especially like the slider for opening the front of the canopy. Just a thought, though: I think if you had used a strap hinge on top of the slider instead of a barrel hinge on the side of the slider you would not have needed to leave the gap on the side.

Thats right,
but then I thought if I do have nearly no gap, you see immediately any misalignments.
With the gap, you wont notice this not that quick.
And the damn thing will move alot due to humidity and temperature changes.

Tired of painting and wood work, I vacuumed the tank and made it ready for a cleanup flush with tap water. And hell, I wanna see water in it!!!!!

Preparation of the fittings with a sharp knife to have a nice edge on every opening.
Later I noticed you come in trouble with the wife and a Scissor works even better!!!

Yiehaaaaa, the light fixture arrived as well on time.
That's good, so I can continue with the installation into the Canopy.

It's the cheap Odyessa 72" one. Really nice for the money.
I'm really impressed about the improvement on design and workmanship.
The Fan's do make nearly no noise!!!







The equipment became much lighter and more compact as well.
It is a good deal !!!
will see if it works.

One issue is that the feet of the fixture need to be shortened.


Awesome, the Fans will have perfect flow, blowing underneath the fixture.
