puffer got spots (Not ich for sure)

i have a dog face puffer that a couple of weeks ago got white blotches near his tail. now it spread to near his fins and gills. i know for sure its not ich because its not on top of the skin but like its part of the skin. i cant get a decent picture. any suggestions would be helpful.

Unfortunatly, in order to really see what you are talking about a pic is needed.

White films, blotchs, a bacterial infection? could be all sorts of things.

Is it like a film or is it like a growth? what is he eating? How big is he?
what are your water parameters?

Blotchs like a skin discoloration? Or like a sore?

its not a wound, looks like someone took a paint brush and dipped it in white paint and flicked it at its tail and the white paint spots got all over his body.
parm. are all fine so thats not a problem

I think he has that michael jackson disease....jk. My DFP is very light compared to yours, almost greyish white, your's looks very young and it may be coming to age. My guess, is he eating well and acting normal. If he had ick, he would hide alot and not do well.

The puffer appears "pinched" or on the thin side. Is the puffer in quarantine? What is it eating?

he doesnt eat much he nibbles on brine shrimp, hes not in quarintine, the parm. are 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite
alkalinity is at 250 ph is at 8.2
