Well I went over to a guys house today to sell him some Seios and while I was there I was checking out his tank. He's got a 200gal in wall loaded with SPS. While looking at all the different fish and coral I noticed he had a Blue Spotted Fiji Puffer. I've always wanted a puffer but I've heard and read that they aren't reef safe. Asking him questions about this he told me that he has had the puffer coming up on 3 years and has never had a problem. The only thing he said he has noticed is when stocking new SPS. He says the puffer will come up and nip at the coral a few times and then never touches it again, and by looking at his tank all his SPS are doing great. I talked to the owner of my LFS and he said that if I want to try it that I can but to keep an eye on things and see how it goes. He said that it shouldn't be to hard to catch if I ever noticed him doing to much damage.
My question to you is what do you think about this, and is there anybody else out there keeping a puffer in a reef tank.
