I went out today in search or a nem for my platinum pair to host. Well i came home with this bad boy. Its a LTA. I went through all the basics before i bought it. I had my LFS feed it to make sure it ate and also asked if i could touch the tenicales to make sure they were sticky. All was good so i baged it up myself. lol Mad the trip home and took the 2hrs to aclimate it to my tank. Placed it in the lower corner of the tank and it took to a rock right off my fingers. That was a first for me. Normaly i have to turn off all pumps for a couple hrs. Well without further delay....

The anemone looks healthy. Macrodactyla doreensis, LTA, like 5 inches or so of sand to bury in. Can't tell from the pic, but yours looks shallower than that.

Nice m. Doreensis! But like Gary said it looks like your gonna need some more sand. However, it's not too terribly difficult to add sand to your tank. Good luck!

Yes I have about 3 inches. I'm going to add another bag or 2 next time I do a water change. It looks real nice today. It hasn't moved from whee I put it last night.

I had a LTA years ago and it stayed high in the rocks. i just bought one 2 weeks ago for my new tank and in stayed in the rocks for a couple of days, but now it is in the sand. my old one paired with a maroon clown, i had it for 7 years split many times....but i wonder if that platimum pair will host a LTA? i was going to get a pair of skunk clowns, but would prefer 2 like yours....

I'm hopping they do... They have showed no interst as of yet but there also new to the tank. They have just started to explore...

chsub, LTAs never divide.
Living in the rocks and dividing would point to a BTA, Entacmaea quadricolor. "pairing" with a maroon is almost certain with BTAs, that is maroon clownfishes one and only natural host.

maybe it was a bta and not LTA, it did not have the red tube that my new LTA has...what clowns host LTA??? i read skunk clowns!!

LTAs naturally host (often incorrectly reversed on this forum) pink skunks, clarkii and chrysogaster.
