pulling from the overflow box for closed loop?

I have a 240 that I'm going to plumb a Sequence Dart closed loop in but I hadn't planned on drilling the tank at all. Would I be creating a lot of water trickle noise by pulling 2500 GPH out of my dual overflows for the closed loop?

Not sure about the noise. If your pulling from an overflow box, It wouldn't be a closed loop.

Exactly, that wouldn't be a closed loop and defeat the purpose.

You've got a point there. Maybe I should drill the back of my tank for a pair of 1" bulkheads with strainers, uh?

It would still be a closed loop if you built it that way...the concern is overpowering the overflows.

I have a 180 gal.My dart is going to arrive today.I am planning on running the plumbing over the top to avoid having to drill it for a closed loop.T he closed loop will run a spray bar behind the rocks as well as 2 3/4 seaswirls.
