Pulse/Wave Simulation versus Low and High Tide

I just received my Tunze Turbelle set up - two 6100 pumps with the multicontroller 7094. I have installed them in my 180 gallon (72" X 24" X 24") tank and the flow is amazing. (The fish appear to have already adjusted but some of the corals are still getting used to the flow. )

My question is what the difference is between the "wave simulation" operation and the "low and high tide" operation? When running just a pair of pumps is one recommended over the other? Any suggestions or comments on the difference between the two would be most appreciated.

TIA

In wave simulation the pumps pulse. In tide mode one pump would be off for a period set on the interval andthe other will be on and then after the interval they switch. The pump that is on pulses. Tide gives a bit more randomness but fish and other animals can enter when the pump is off. If your pumps are the newest ones with driver 7240.27, they have fishcare so the pump will turn one rpm every 20seconds even when off so you don't have to worry so much about this risk.
