Pump Controllers

Hi Folks,

Could someone explain the operation of the pump controllers? The information available on the Tunze website mentions that the controller performs a pulsing action. It also shows that different pumps can be set to operate less than 100% of flow. Exactly how does this work in practice?

For instance, 4 pumps could be controlled to turn on in sequence to create a surge. Are these pumps shut off completely and then turned on, or is their power reduced to eg. 30% and then each turned up in sequence to 100%? Are the streams designed to be turned off completely?

What are the most common setups, or controlled patterns for the Tunze pumps and controllers?

I can email a manual if you PM me your email address. There is a lot to cover so it is probably best to get you a manual and if you have any follow questions let me know. Basically the pumps pulse between two speeds you set. Only certain pumps can be run on this controller- pumps designated "Electronic" with adapters Turbelle Classic can also be run on the controller. These pumps have special motors that are controllable. The pumps can also be turned off and on depending on the program you select. In the example you give the pumps would turn on in sequence at the time delay you set, while on the pumps would pulse between the two speeds you selected. They would then all turn off except the first pump and the whole sequence would start over.
