So our AP24 arrived yesterday. The stand unfornately got separated and is coming today. In the meantime we are spending too much money on a bunch of other equipment. We are going to get the Current 1/15 chiller. So I need a pump to send water to it and back to the tank. We estimate about 6' of head. From the floor to the top lip of the AP24. So do we need to go on that number or because it is a closed loop with gravity pushing water down on both sides do we not need to overcome 6 feet of head pressure? So I imagine a 6 foot tall U of hose full of water, the water doesn't move. There is 6' of head pressure on both sides so no movement at all. Does that logic not apply to running down to a chiller and back up to the tank. Whatever the answer, what pump. The Current 1/15 specifies 5-10 gpm which is equal to 300 gph on the low end. So I was looking at the Mag Drive 7. It would overocme the 6 feet and provide adequate flow. But it is 70w. And huge, won't fit in the back of the AP24 I don't think. Not to mention all that heat. What is the right thing to do for this? I am a newbie in case you couldn't tell. Joke, I sure you can tell. Any info would be very helpfull. Thank you.
