Is there anything available that will shut off my sump pump if the main tank level is to high? im concerned with my overflow becoming clogged and the main tank overflowing, and eventually having my sump run dry.

thanks.

What i did is used a microswitch (120 volt) and tied it into a float then used a 120 volt relay so tha if your water level gets to high it will cut off the power to your pump you can also use it as a low waer cut off

You can whip up a DIY project as cyberdude47 suggests or something simular.

If you are uncomfortable with electric type projects, you can investigate float switches from http://www.autotopoff.com/

My tank float switch has saved me at least a half dozzen times.

It is worth the investment, no mater the route you take, to protect yourself (and your carpet, wood floors and your good name with the significant other) by preventing overflows.
