Pump upgrade suggestions? Uber quiet!

I have a 265g tank that is currently running a Reeflo super dart gold. Looking to update to a DC pump . The reeflo is a fine pump but draws a ton of electricity and is not as quiet as it once was. I'm a little behind the times on the DC technology but they look to be quieter and much more efficient. My most important goal though is finding one that is dead silent for my size tank. I don't really need the 4300gph that the Dart has but whatever is adequate turn over. I can do external or internal. I'm not sure which I prefer, whatever is quietest. Any good recommendations? Thank you

very happy with the royal exclusive pumps and very quiet too. these are very powerful and probably underrated but I think in the long haul this should be a great pump after you get by the price.

Depends on head pressure. If your sump is in the stand, I'd give the lager Vectra a long look. If you are pumping up from a basement, not sure any DC pump is going to cut it.

Check into the Waveline pumps. I have a 12000 and it is dead quiet.

the A200 and A400 are different animals. They are not low voltage pumps.

I run a Waveline 12000 DC @ level 4.5 on a 250, so you should be good with the same or something comparable. They run silent & should be internally used.

I'm running up from the basement with the larger Vectra (L1). For my 200 it is marginal but ok. Much less flow that my Iwaki 55rlt, but a ton quieter.

Royal Exclusive Red Dragon pumps are literally silent. Not quiet, or sorta silent. Simply silent.

Well, then a universe of choices opens up for you Look at the Vectra. I'm very impressed with mine. Completely silent and 'appears' a step above the other Chinese pumps (won't know for sure until its been in the market for a while though)..

Have the Vectra L1 on my 300g closed loop situated about 15' from the tank. Very quiet!
About 80% the flow of my Pan World 200PS.
Love the controllability with EcoSmartLive.

I agree 100%. That was the pump I was originally planning to use on my build.

Count me in for needing to replace my pump under my stand. I was using a goby gold Reeflo pump with 1.5 inlet and outlet. Can anyone think of a good quality pump with same size in/outlets so I can do this extremely simple??

Count me in - I have two 220 gallon tanks currently using Dolphin 4750 Diamond Series on each. I am exploring what to replace these with when the time comes. Also have sump under the stand.

I'm using a Royal Exclusiv RD3-230 on my 150 with a basement sump. Yeah, I lose flow, but I wanted quiet and it delivers. Tossing in my vote for silence. I can only tell it's on if the house is asleep and my furnace is off.

My long term plan is using the same pump on a 300+ gallon tank with same level fish room.

So I have to say right now it is looking like the Vectra. I know the Royal Exclusiv have a great reputation and are very silent so I will still put that one in the running, but it's double the cost. I don't think I mind spending the 800 if it is everything it is cracked up to be. Just taking away money for other goodies . Guys with the Vectra, do you run yours submersed or external? Any difference in noise and heat transfer?

I third the RE pumps. If not for their quiet, but parts availability should you need it is easy.
