Puratek RODI complications

I got the following product

Vertex Puratek Deluxe 100 GPD RO/DI SYSTEM
Code: VX-RO-PD100

I recently replaced my media because i noticed a higher than normal tds reading. Once complete, I was unable to produce water again. It reads as though the reservoir is full but the container itself is empty. I have a feeling this is a pressure issue but do not know how to fix this. Did i do something wrong or could this be another issue?

Thanks for your help.

I unplugged my RODI and did the following

Removed the carbon and replaced it with a new one
Removed the DI and replaced it with a new one
Removed the sediment and replaced it with a new one

Put everything back together in same places making sure everything was fit snug then plugged it back in

I have a feeling that the solenoid is not opening back up and letting water through. A couple of things to look at....

- Is the booster pump kicking on at all?
- Are you getting any water out of your waste line regardless of what the booster pump is doing?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Was able to correct this issue. I simply removed all media canisters and reseated them and it ended up working fine afterwards. Thanks for your help

Hi, here is a tip. I just replaced all of my filters last week and my TDS was still reading about 24 to 27 ppm after 9this is the same as before replacing the filters). I called tech and found out that the membrane needed replacing, and ordered a new one and now my TDS is 0 to 2 after.

I am having an issue with my Vertex Puratek Deluxe 100 as well after I replaced all of the filters and membrane. I keep getting 50+ on the tds meter and have 175 PSI on the pump. It produces water but doesn't produce any drain water.

Any Ideas?

Haven't changed any lines, just removed the membrane pipe line that is on the screw top, replaced membrane then added that line back. I tried removing the membrane and running the unit to see if it will produce some drain water but still nothing. I have reseated all filters and membrane multiple times and can't get anything from it. Unit was running fine before the filter changes and got the recommended spectrum 90 membrane actually from you guys.

I actually purchased this exact unit used and not functioning. I had a feeling I could fix it. I suspected a broken solenoid. I opened the solenoid up and found that one end of the solenoid wire (the very thin and long coiled lacquer insulated wire) had dis-bonded or broken off from the thick hookup wire. I was able to solder this connection back and for the past year the unit has functioned well.

I carefully unwrapped the solenoid a little to access enough wire. Careful so as not to break more of this delicate wire, especially the connection on the other end of the coil. And with a little heat and solder and flux, I was able to join the wires back together.

Vertex did promptly and accurately diagnose the issue, but I had not waited for them and had fixed it before they could get to me. I love this unit.

Any tips for someone with a stuck solenoid? I just bypassed it, but would obviously prefer it worked. :)

I got this response from Vertex on Feb 10 for a problem I was having. They seem very helpful. Try contact them direct:

Allan,

Sounds to me like a low pressure solenoid. Who is your dealer? I am sure they can get one in for you. also if this is not possible than you can get them from Proline Aquatics. They are the North American Distributor. 1.877.682.3474

funny.. i recently bought one of these.. put all the media in, hooked it up. ran it for half an hour. the whole time it was reading 50pp and beeping at me. i figured this was normal for the initial run thru.
the tds never went down. ran it awhile longer to see. noticed that it burned up my di resin within an hour.
checked with my portable tds meter and it was thru the roof. cant remember the exact number.
I have a buddy with the same unit, so i took it over to his place to troubleshoot.
turns out the hoses coming out of the membrane were reversed. filtered water going down the drain, waste water going into di resin.
still waiting from my dealer to hear back from proline about a replacement di cartridge. i would think it would be a no brainer. just get me one.

oh.. dont want to sound all bad.
once i switched the hoses, replaced the di resin with a cartidge i got from my buddy, i have been producing 0tds water at a great rate. overall very happy with it.
