Purchasing Wrasse Sexes

I will be buying a red velvet wrasse. I have the choice between buying a juvanile/female or a sub adult/male. If I buy the juvanile/female, will it turn into a male later on or just stay as a female. I will only have one.

i know they are quite different species, but my banana wrasse, about 4 inches, immediately began to change into a male once introduced to my aquarium.

I have 3... 2 males and a F...they all seem to get along fine, with each other, and all other wrasses in the tank!
BTW...how much are they, where you are?

LA has them, the female is $20.00 cheaper then the male. That why I'll take a female if it will turn into a male
