Anyone have any experience keeping these two fish together? Both are around 2 inches long, with the firefish being the only resident fish, and the yellow hogfish (Bodianus bimaculatus, or very closely related) being newly introduced.
For the past week or so, the firefish is still not tolerant of the new arrival. I am of course going to take the standard measures for a small tank, such as rearanging the rockwork, creating more hiding places/dart holes etc. Are these two normally compatable? Any ideas/comments to make my fish more likely to thrive?
Tank, 12 gallon eclipse all in one (yes, too small long term, will upgrade)
25 pounds or so of live rock and 2-3inch sandbed
These are the only two fish, along with small inverts
