When I was a noob, I put a N. magnifica in my (uncovered) 29g, because a local reefer told me the whole jumping thing was overblown, they'd had one for a long time, and it didn't jump.
Sadly, a lot of shops will tell you that it is blown out of proportion, but when I worked at a LFS, we had a lot of dartfish jump! They're so quick. I don't know if they jumped on purpose, or just couldn't stop themselves when startled, but we found them in several tanks other than the tank that they started in, on numerous occasions. Talk about house crashing; they just moved right in to other homes.
The red and purple pair look really neat, I love both of them and it is really hard to decide.maybe the next time I get dart fish I will get one red and one purple. but for now I decided to just get the red one again since its cheaper and has a more unusual appearance. I actually might get a pair
I've had a smaller red and larger purple. The purple was a bully to the red and eventually killed it. I'd recommend getting a smaller purple if you want both.
