purple goniopora

Picked up a purple goniopora last night. I was hesitating because I am a newbie, and the lfs owner offered it to me at half price.....so I bought it. And now I am wondering if I did the right thing.

He said to feed it often - every other day or so with coral frenzy. This is not a problem as I am target feeding other corals.

And then this morning, I decided to do more research on the flower pot so I know what to expect.....they seem to be allot more delicate than I had anticipated.

I read an article that stated dosing with iron and manganese was very helpful to these corals, and was wondering if there are reefkeepers out there doing this and what the results were.

Feed it about 3 times a week with a cyclopeeze mush. Don't bleach it with powerful lights is another big thing.

I "maintain" a high nutrient tank and my pink/blue Alveopora has been encrusting away like no ones business over the last year. I do nothing special for it nor do I direct feed it. It is placed ~18" from the HOT5's and recieves 12 hrs 2 x 26" HOT5's, 6hrs 6X36" HOT5's.

It seems to enjoy turbulant flow and the extended polyps fly around in the current all day long!
