my PH lost their colour (went brownish) now they have not opened for over a week. i put them in my frag tank (which is fishless) all other zoos/corals are fine. beforehand they were growing really quickly then this happened, not sure what todo?

how does vitamin C work and what vitamin C do i use? the orange falvoured human one crushed up?

Thanks
Ryan

Problem is all you non-US can't spell color

Seriously... It's unclear as to whether they started having issues in the display or after you moved to the frag tank. If it was after, I would evaluate the differences in parameters between the two systems. I wouldn't necessarily rush to start a full tank "treatment" of vit-c just because of one coral. Feel free to read up, but a shotgun approach to a specific issue isn't necessarily the best idea.

I think you answered your own question, by placing them into a new system you have now got your Purple Hornets in a tizzy, they are prolly ****ed and stressed from trying to adjust to the new flow, light, parameters, nutrients, etc...maybe cut a few and place them back in the old system

ok sorry i wasnt clear the problem occured in the DT before i transferred them to the FT my DT is

48x24x20 lit by 10x54W powermodule, flow 3 x MP40W on full rc and 4 x 6045

my frag tank is plumbed into the same tank in the cabinet so water params are identical but light is

6 x 24W sunpower and flow is 2 x 6045.

I run a zeovit system P04 and N03 = 0

Last night i noticed a few polops have opened back up, although brown, i would not treat the whole system but in a seperate QT system

I think the lighting in the DT may be too intense. if they go back in there will try shading them a bit.

It is possible for them to regain their color. I have some co-co pinks brown out completely, and after the issue was resolved, they gained their color back in three months. Doesnt always work that way. Just keep them in a stable tank and see what comes of it.
