They look like blue hornets. Blue hornets have a blue center, purple hornets have a purple center...

Ill try to get a side by side shot when my lights come on...

the first ones are definitely not hornets, however the second ones might be..can you get a closer shot of the skirts? The skirts or lashes should be in alternating color pattern between green/yellow and purple. That's what makes a blue or purple hornet, well...a hornet.
