Purple Sebae Anemone: Help?

Warning: Run-on sentences ahead.
(also, this is my first post, so please let me know if I do anything egregious.)

We just bought and introduced a purple sebae anemone (We'll call it "Joe for this discussion) to our 100G reef tank and placed it in a comfortable nook out of the current, but on checking the tank this morning we found that Joe had moved from his nook and attached himself to the powerhead (or is it the filter?) about two feet away.

Are these anemone usually mobile? And where is the best place to put someone like Joe?

I will try to get a couple of photos up if I can. For now, I have a highly not-to-scale visual representation of what the tank looks like... ish.

...because I am [ IMG ] challenged. Again, apologies for anything that's not kosher.

Yes - anemone's are mobile.

However - when you say he attached himself to the filter or powerhead. Is he being sucked into it?

Welcome to RC(I really need to learn how to do that banner thing!)
Kinda shot in the dark w/out pics(photobucket works best for me)
If that is a sebae, sand bottom is usually pref.
They also need strong light(specs help)
One thing is certain, that is a bad place to be for nems, I'd shut off PH and carefully remove nem, careful to not tear foot, sometimes ice helps, but gently peel off.
Try to place at sandbed where it's not getting blasted by flow.

kimsie:
He appears to be getting sucked in; his foot isn't attached to the filter.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll shut the filter off and try to snuggle him out of there. You say he should live in the sand at the bottom?

Sucked in not good at all!
But many have survived this.
Turn off pump, and probably leave it be for a bit and see if it tries to pull itself out of pump.
You may end up needing to help it.
Intakes should be covered to prevent this.
Pics really would help

Also:
How do you get the little guy to settle into the sand? he's getting blown around a bit by the current, even at the bottom of the tank.

I scoop a little hole in sand, between a couple rocks to kinda protect/block flow.
Some even cover them w/ tupperware or container w/ holes, but I never have had to do this.
Tents should be gently flowing.
What lighting?

They are very mobile. Mine took a while to find a nice spot, he decided to settle next to a rock where it could hide it's foot under the sand and feel safe. If you find him a nice spot to hide it's foot it should stay put

Okay. I've scooped a nice hole for Joe; he seems to have settled there quite nicely. He's spreading out a bit, not drifting around but his... tentacles? are waving a little bit. Any tips on how a happy nem should look?

Also: I've taken a few photos; they are trying to upload to my email so I can actually access them if anyone still wants to see what's going on.

Yes. Lighting: (I don't know if I'm writing the correct terms. So, without further ado...)

4 bulbs: Coralife Actinic/10,000K 96 Watts

Power compacts.
T5's or MH would really suit that nem(if for sure a sebae) better.
They do prefer strong light, and that can make them move.
A BTA would be a better choice under PC's
How deep is tank?

That's on the shallow side, you may be OK.
Usually if they feel the need for more light they will climb onto rocks, not ideal.
If they don't get enough light they may continue to wander.
When those bulbs need to be replaced, you may consider upgrading to a T5 unit.
PC's are not the most efficient, but still OK for softies and less light needy corals.
My exp w/ sebaes, they love strong light.
