Purple Tang Might Have Too Go-Want it?

My Purple Tang have been in my main tank for about three months now and everything has been well. I also have a Yellow Tang, Yellow Tail Damsel, Blue Tang, Six Lined Wrasse, and a pair of spawning Percula Clown's. Have some softys and sps, mushrooms, etc. and cleaner crew: Peppermint, cleaner, emerald, hermits, etc.The tank is a 120 gal 48x24x24.

Lately the blue tang is hiding a lot more and it seems the yellow is nicer and freaked as well. I had a yellow and blue in this tank happily together for years prior, different fish. So it seems the Purple Tang will be the on to go. This picture is month and a half old but fish has great color and is very healthy eating pellets, flake, or frozen.

just wondering if anybody would want this guy, I am willing to trade something/things or I will end up trading in at the LFS.

Corals, Pairs, equipment, or smaller tanks welcome.

He is larger than pic, probably five inch or so, can take current picture if interested.

Just as a note on the purple: I have one on loan for an algae problem, and I'm quite surprised to note it is [with small cigar-shaped fish it can't hit] amazingly placid and calm and a good tank citizen. I think if you have that kind of population its reported aggression is not a problem at all.

Current pics, I'd have to guess it's almost 4 in from nose to end of tail, hard to measure, but it was bought 4 months ago half dollar size, been eating good in a broodstock tank

my tangs like to have room to hide and caves to swim in....make sure they are able to go in and out of your rock work. I am not certain why the others are hiding...they should all get along from my experience. how long has this been going on?

I guess I'll monitor them for a bit longer, I just heard more then two is pushing is with tangs....Keep you all posted...Carl

I have never heard that Carl. I have always heard different things like keep odd amounts and add them all at the same time. I have never followed those practices and have never had a problem...just make sure they are all able to eat and that one is not dominating the food.

your tank may be a little small for them they may be just establishing there pecking order Make sure they are all eating and you will be fine maybe move some rock around this helps too
I keep 5 tangs in my 180 and have kept four in a 110 tall until they outgrew it

i don't think the tank is small. i have the same tank and i have 5 tangs. a 5 inch unicorn, a 5 inch naso, 3 inch yellow, 4 inch orange shoulder, and 5 inch achilles and more other species.

I dont think that there is a book out there that says you can keep those tangs in a 4 ft tank but who am I to say
