Purple Up and Lugols Solution

I used Lugols Solution by Kent Marine just a few days ago for Iodine and I also want to use Purple Up to increase calcium levels in my aquarium. Do I need to worry about overdosing on Iodine (or anything else for that matter) since purple up has Iodine in it also? Should I be alright if I just wait a few days in between when I put them in the tank?

Thanks!

**edit** I wanted to mention that I have a Nano 20 Gallon High

I would use a test kit for Iodine if you do choose to add it. Lugol's solution is pretty strong so I would really be careful not to use it too agressively. I would strongly recomend you use a test kit for Iodine.
Other test kits I would suggest would be for calcium and alkalinity.
If your calcium and alkalinity values are not maintained at proper levels your corals won't grow as well as they could otherwise.

Yes, it is easy to overdose on iodine if you add variety of multi chemical supplements - be careful ;)

As Randy has already stated often there's no need to supplement iodine. Through the hard way, of nearly crashing my entire tank, now I believe him  :D

Well he says that there is no evidece of it being beneficial. He didn't say exactly not to dose it. he says that as long as you don't overdose it and if you think it helps than there is no reason not to.

Yes, that's right, but I don't dose iodine, and if I did, it would be an iodide (I-) salt (like from ESV) rather than Lugols, which has some of it in the unnatural and reactive form I2.

Personally, I wouldn't dose the Purple Up either. The main ingredients are not supplementing calcium and alkalinity, despite the claim otherwise.
