Purple Up

i have been using it every day on the 2 pico tanks i set up a month or so ago. i added a few small pieces of live rock from the critter & been adding the purple up since & have a nice coraline growth on all the dry rock that i started with :)

I use it ad have good results. It is expensive for larger tanks though. Det out of whack. Drsfostersmith had the best price. I am switching to BRS 2 part to see howthat does.

I would reccomend making sure your alk and PH are in a stable ratio before starting purple up, otherwise you may see your PH and Kh get further out of whack. I used some DT's Ca anf Alk to stabalize the ratio (a 2 part), and then using the purple up has been good.

Not too keen on a product that don't tell you what is in it??? And it is expensive for sure. Keep your Ca where it should be and save your money IMO.

yeah i think it works best on new setups &/or smaller tanks like i have been doing....cost effective to do the 2-part on a regular basis

iT BASICALLY BOOSTS YOUR mAG AND calcium I think... Very expensive to dose when you can get the 2 part ingrediants and the epsons salts for cheap :).

Here is a link to the 2 part mentioned and he has updated the contents of it so don't get confused if you do the mix with mix old or new instructions ... The instructions should have been written up totally seperate IMO, I got a little off since old mix and new mix was written the same just mix 1,2 or a,b somrhting like that..

Also, FWIW I stumbled across this big compilation of great reads and almost any chemistry question is answered in the links.
