purple zoa w/green ring

i tend to drop around 5 polyps a month. oddly enough for a lower light needing coral the green/yellow ring gets very faint under any of our lights. but when placed in the tank with the most extreme lighting 3x400 MH radiums 2x110 VHOthe ring comes in VERY bright and very quickly. in two weeks it is much brighter. i find the same thing with blue zoanthids.

Excellent looking tank oceana! :D

Love the variety and the way it's filled in. Keep up the good work.

Glad everyone likes me. Due to the fact that I have never seen this zoanthid before I have no plans to frag this zoa until I have a lot more. If I do it will not be on this forum do to mod request.
Because of its uniqueness it will likely be donn via ebay but that will not be for quite some time. I did take some new pics last night of them that I will post in a few

Ebay, bleh.

Hey... he's an ambitious business man with a very nice piece of inventory ;)

I probably wouldn't do ebay... but I would get what I could for it.
I would probably get the hook up on some awesome trades first and sell shortly after that.

Nice Zoa (and tank)! I like the openness of your tank.

Exactly what I was thinking...

Wouldn't it be better to trade it with someone to get even more "top shelf" zoas.

Another positive thing about trading/selling with people here on RC is that you build trading relationships... What if you frag this thing, sell it on Ebay and then your colony dies. Do you think that the person you ebayed it to is going to hook you up with a frag back? Heck no, they are going to tell you, just watch for the ebay auction and bid for it...

(Note: While lots of people do really like it, and all zoas are great, the zoa in the first pic didn't really do much for me...I was mostly impressed by the tank as a whole)

like i said its not my choice. per the mods i cant sell or trade on the foprum any longer due to being considered Commercial.

besides as far as trades go there are not many out there that i dont have that i wanted. i think this one will be staying in the display for awhile. its not often i come across something i never saw before. I just thought others might like to see a pic.

Oh, you didn't say that you're commercial.
There are plenty of websites that you can use that aren't Ebay.
Plus, trading isn't against the rules, even if you are commercial.;)

Cheers,
Bill

Tell that to the mods lol they dont agree. i did not say i am commercial they did. Once the lable you commercial you can not trade because they know it opens up to sales. anyhow like i said i did not open this tread to talk about sales or trades. i just wanted to share a new find

Just a quick thought though... Its always wise to have a frag in someone elses tank "just incase" if you are not gonna frag alot and your ebay your first frag... you'll never know where that coral went if you need to re-aquire a frag one day.

that and ebay tends to not do much unless its a high profile coral. I've seen some amazing corals go for less than you'd buy it at a local LFS.

All of this don't matter I already called dibs.....Once some one calls dibs they got first shot....LOL
