Im getting ready to get a 100g long tank 72x18x17 and will finally have a drilled overflow tank instead of years with a hang on back overflow! I was looking at lowes and came across a 4'x8'x.50" sheet of white pvc board can i put this to use as the bottom glass protector i can set my live rock on or is it harmful for the animals? If harmful can i get some better ideas thanks

If it's PVC, it's the same material you plumb your tank with.

ABS will work also.

As Vinny stated, Starboard (which is the trade name) is HDPE. They use it on fishing boats to make containers, shelving, etc.... Cutting boards are also made from HDPE.

I'm using HDPE that's 1/2" thick on the bottom of my 120. However, I wouldn't go any thinner the 3/8".

Some use plexiglass, which is safe, but I've heard stories of warping issues.

That board is 1/2" thick.
Starboard is what many use.
ABS is another option & can be ordered thin.
