I see many people use Purple Primer for PVC Plumping....is there any reason to use Purple over the clear primer/cleaner.????

the original reason for purple primer was so the inspectors can see that you actually did primer the sewer pipes before install. The new code has changed so you no longer need the purple and can use the clear.

People use purple primer on there plumbing underneath there tanks cause they can't get the purple to grow in there tank :o

Lowes is where I seen it....I will be going with the clear....Man I have to get this tank done.....Been putting it off for weeks been very busy at work.... 12 hour days......the way I look at it more money for the tank......:)
BTW Jaymie your tank look awsome dude....see ya @ the swap

FWIW, ive never used primer anyhow, but its good practice to... lol

my crappy hd only carries the purple stuff, and yellow cleaner. damn them!

I used the purple stuff, doesn't it soften the PVC? or clean the area of oil and so?

Anyways, it you use it try to not make it so messy. Use your hands and fingers to clean the PVC primer and cement. Clean is always the way to go.
