pair of pyramids starting picking my toadstools. question is which can i live without. i really like my long tent toad so that's going to be hard to give up.
got a great deal on the pyramids not really found around here much.
hmmm.. kinda a tough one.

Interesting dilemma. I've never heard of pyramid butterflies going after coral. What is their general diet? Maybe there's something missing in their diet that they're seeking elsewhere.

Are you feeding enough? Pyramids have a big appetite and they're planktivores.
So multiple daily feeds would be ideal.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have a trio of pyramids, and there is a toadstool coral in the tank. You could possibly not be feeding enough, they arent sposed to pick at coral :)

If you want to unload your pyramids, I am looking for some and am local. You are right, they are tough to find in Boston area!

Any fish, underfed, will eat stuff you don't want it to. My trio of pyramids don't touch any corals (though they did strip the tank of Xenia).

I found Pyramids are seasonal.
If you really like your toadstool, there are other butterflies out there.

Keep them both, toadies are pretty hardy and will recover from some damage. It might be that the butterflies stop or they have found some detritus, algae or mucus that they like from a slight shed of the leather.

i kinda think it was due to lack of food. when my kid was home he would feed the tank more often.. so since he's back at school not feeding as much and that's kinda when it all started happenning.

Pyramids will go after Xenia, so it's certainly possible for them to 'mistake' long tent leathers and go for a nibble.
