I just got a 225 gallon 72x30x24 high tank. I am considering lighting and would appreciate ALL THE HELP I CAN GET.
My first thought was 3x250 HQI, actinics
My second thought was the new LED Solaris ($$$)
My third thought was 3x400 MH, actinics.
I've read the thread on the Solaris and, being so long, the opinions are pretty well mixed pro/con/neutral/don't know.
The tank is 24" high so I though I'd get away with 250 HQIs rather than 400 watt. What do you think. I'm going to have a mixed although SPS dominated reef.
