some don't use a filter and some do. If you don't, just make sure you are up on the water changes. Need a thermometer. Some also don't use a powerhead (just your preference). I don't use cooper, as I use Tank Transfer Method (for ich), Prazi-Pro (flukes), and CP (for velvet). I also use Formalin as a 45 min dip in a bucket upon arrival. Prazi-Pro is the only med I dose as a preventative measure and that's during the TTM process.
