QTing Pistol Shrimp

Sometime in the near future I'm planning on getting a pistol shrimp and goby. I'll probably get them at the same time and QT them together.

Would a couple of pieces of PVC on a bare bottom be enough to keep the pistol happy during the QT period?

The PVC should be fine. You can always add some tiny, small plastic odds and ends or even a little freshwater aquarium gravel to give it something to "play" with.

I would not go with the gravel since you want only flat surfaces in a qt so that ICH ( if there are some on the live stock ) won't have a place to attach to and cont. there life cycle...

but a smooth pcv should suffice.... just something for the goby/shrimp to feel secure in.. my 2cents.
