Quarantine Advice For Fresh Startup

Dear All,

I try to search and read a lot about quarantine and thanks for all articles.
However, maybe because of so much read I am not able to figure out how to start a new aquarium with quarantine cycle. My aim is 100% quarantine all live stock.My Aim will be 100% free ICH , Velvet and other parasites as well as all pest on the corals I will going to add ,will be a SPS + fish tank

1-) Sand and dry rocks no need quarantine and I can start the bacteria cycle (AF system) without any quarantine needs.I have 2-3 weeks time till my tank is installed in my home.
2-) While I am waiting the tank maybe I go ahead with quarantine some fish?
3-) What about corals? Should I have 2 quarantine tanks: for fish only and corals (oh no!) ?
4-) any suggestion for sequence of 2 and 3 so I use only 1 QT tank?

Time is priceless so any chance to tweak the sequence which comes with a fresh starts as a chance?

You should have 2 separate tanks for QT, one for fish and one for corals and inverts. I would start the QT of your first fish after the ammonia subsides in the cycle. If you only want one QT tank you will have a much longer time in stocking your tank. Fish should be QTed for 6 weeks minimum (8 weeks is better) and inverts and corals should be QTed for 72 days if you want to be certain no ich makes it to the DT

Thanks and very clear..it will be good I start search for space in my little flat and get some free square meters from domestics minister (girl friend) wow that's really a challenge 2 QT.. I will read about QT for corals is it easy manageable with water changes only like fish QT tanks

And if I remember correct fishes inQT can be in-batch with friendly fishes but if I add one more new then cycle starts from zero again what about corals inverts , may I add new ones and count their 72 days time individually?

Btw, do you apply 2 QT for yourself as well? OR you say "œ don't do what I do but do what I say" )

As for adding corals and resetting of the clock, if you break the coral off of rubble or frag plugs then the cyst stage of Ich can’t be brought into the tank since the cysts won’t form on the coral themselves. I started my tank with dry rock and currently don’t have any inverts or corals Just FOWLR, so I don’t need two QTs although I have tanks ranging from 20g up to 125g for QTs
