I’m quarantining with hyposalinity for the first time. Can you guys check if I’m doing this right?

air driven filter
air stone for aeration
PH - 7.9
S.G. - 1.009
KH/Alk - 8.0
Temp - 78-80

These are the only things that I really check. I sometimes check nitrates. What can nitrates go up to in a quarantine tank? Do I need to check anything else?

I also recently read that the cheap blue refractometers are inaccurate. Should I buy the calibration solution? Anyone have opinions on this?

I would also monitor ammonia. This can quickly get out of control if you don't have a well cycled biological filter.

I would also bump the pH up a bit.

Make sure that you start the fish out in its normal water settings. Then slowly change the salinity. You should take at least 2 days to lower the salinity.
