Quarantine & Preemptive Treatments

I picked up two young tank raised (assuming captive bred) false percs about a week ago. They are about 1.5-2 inches long.

They seem very happy and healthy in quarantine. They bounce around a lot, and after a bit of distrust they are happily using the PVC pieces as caves.

Having researched quarantine, my questions are:

I plan on a preemptive treatment for ich, now that they've relaxed from the stress of the move. As my fish are not WC, do I need to subject them to the stress of formalin baths? Any other preemptive treatments that would be wise?

Kind regards,
Rusty

Why treat if there's nothing to treat? IMO, if they both appear healthy, there's not reason to do anything in QT other than observe them...anything else will just be added stress.
