Quarantining Scribbled Angels

I just picked up a pair of Scribbled Angels from Diver's Den last night and I want people's input in regards to quarantining. I am an advocate of quarantining all fish I put into my tank for a minimum of 4-6 weeks, but I am concerned that my 55 gallon quarantine tank is too small for the 7.5" male and 5.5" female. If the the fish were from anywhere other than Diver's Den I wouldn't even consider not quarantining them, but I have had great luck with Diver's Den and their quarantine process is top notch. All input is appreciated.

I doubt they were in bigger quarters than that while being held at the Diver's Den... should be fine to continue in relatively small quarters until you're through the quarantine period.

WORST CASE SCENARIO - Fish appear to be going downhill 100% based off size of tank related issues (almost guaranteed not to happen) then you can contemplate putting them directly into your display tank, at least by then you will have quarantined them for hopefully a week or two and watched for obvious disease.

nice pick up!

i have a 3" one thats in cupramine right now after a bout with what appears to be oodinium.

are the scribbled pairs eating already? if so, what?

i logged in late last night, so didnt get to see the DD pics of it. got it saved?

You got them pretty soon after they were posted, right? :fun2:

They should be fine in the 55 during quarantine. Give them some places to hide and manage water quality carefully.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I've definitely decided to go the QT route and will post some pictures when they come in tomorrow. I'm thinking about pulling a few big pieces of live rock out of my sump and making a few structures for the angels to hide in and to hopefully help out with some filtration. These will be my first large angels so I'm not 100% decided on my QT routine, my usual route is to observe and medicate as needed, what are people's thoughts on that route?

How soon after introduction into QT do you recommend starting Prazi treatment and when you say Prazi I'm assuming your are referring to Prazipro correct?

Get them feeding and comfortable for a few days to a week then do a round of prazipro. Wait a week and do a second round of prazi. You can dose cupramine as well after the first round of prazi if you desire but be careful and test for it.

They came this morning and after acclimation are happily cruising around the QT tank, I will take pictures tonight and upload them. So far so good!

I didn't get a chance to take pictures last night, but the angels are doing great. The male is an extremely aggressive eater and is readily eating, Rogger's Food, PE Mysis and Nori off a clip, the female is subject to some bullying by the male but is eating Rogger's Food and PE Mysis when left alone by the male. I promise pictures tonight as they are a gorgeous pair!

awesome can't wait to see the pictures! and it always feels great to get fish that eat right off the bat huh? :)
