Quarantining snails?

Im Going to get some snails from the LFS. Just wondering about Quarantine? What i should look for ,Do they carry Disease?Thanks Rob

While quarantining everything is good practice, I've never qt'd a snail. I don't think you'll have an issue.

Also, in most qt tanks, isnt the sg a bit lower? If so, that would actually not be so good for the snails, because most require the sg to be really close to 1.025

yea i woud say no to the qt as well, i have not had a problem with them yet.

There are small snails that prey upon larger species of snail and look almost identical to the species that attack clams. You won't need to quarantine your new algae eaters, but you should inspect them for any parasitic pests.
