Well ive been a bit intruiged by Cephlapods but i hear they have a very short life span, what i would like to know before even considering getting one if this is do to that they dont fare well in captivity? or are they simply just shortlived animals?

They aren't very hard to keep in captivity, they just need special needs that many people who don't properly research overlook.

They are however naturally short lived. Most octos and cuttles only live for about a year.
