I got some of these last week from insanecorals:

They were doing really good..then I noticed a mushroom was on the side of the rock (this is picture from the website I got them on..not my actual piece..they already removed mine since it was sold)

Anyhow..since they've been settling in...the mushroom has been opening up more..and the polyps closest to it aren't opening like they were at first... how do I get the mushroom off w/out hurting it.. as I'd like to move it to another rock becaust its neat looking ( it has polka dots on it)

Also..would these clove polyps do better under vho or PCs? I have two tanks...w/ different lighting..and wasn't sure if one would be better than the other.

Take a razor blade and slice the shroom as close to the rock as possible. The probability is that it'll still grow back. At least you'll be able to keep it in check.

Just move the sliced shroom to another part of your tank. It'll mount itself. They are super hardy.

I don't know how much rock you have at / around the base of the mushroom, but if there's enough room, you could take a fine chisel and chip off the rock just where the mushroom is attached. Then, you can put it wherever you like and it shouldn't grow back on your clove polyp rock.

Otherwise, you can slice it off at the base, as mentioned above.
