question about feather duster worm

been in my 14g cube for 9 months. noticed a couple of days ago that he has left his tube behind. can't think of anything stressful other than i did the 3 days lights out to get some cyano under control.

the tube is definitely empty so he didn't die in there. if he's gonna form another tube, any idea how long this sort of thing can take?

I haven't seen feather dusters leave their tube and I have has some a couple years. That's odd, let me know what happens. Good luck

I read that they can leave their tube and make another, but don't recall a timeline.

i know they occasionally shed their crowns and grow new ones but i know, for sure, that the tube was empty so i assume he left it behind for some reason. i'm still watching but i'm told it could take several weeks before i see him again.
