Hello everyone I have been doing some research on the controller and really like it. I was wondering if I purchase the light II controller will I be able to do sunrise and sunset and also lightning and other cool stuff with only this unit without the main profilux controller?
Thank you, Jimmy

You shouldn't have a problem creating a Sunrise/Sunset simulation with the Profilux Light 2.

Here are the features I found from the Aqua-Digital website:

GHL ProfiLux Light II Controller
Price: $349.99

The much awaited GHL Profilux Light II is now here.

The Profilux Light II has been designed to provide independent control of your aquariums lighting, Tunze pump and temperature control needs, plus other great built in functions explained in detail below.

The great benefit of this unit is that you don’t need a Profilux main controller to use the Light 2 as it can be used as a complete stand alone even if you do not have a ProfiLux controller set up, so if you are just wanting to control lighting including dimmable lighting, Tunze pumps and temperature, this is the most affordable unit on the market today for achieving all these features in one unit.

If you are running an existing ProfiLux set up, the light 2 will not only increase the expansion of your system affordably but also relieve your main controller for further function add on’s.

Features â€"œ

Full lighting control with built in interface for dimmable ballast control

Temperature control port (probe is not included, sold separately)

Tunze stream pump control

GHL LED light control

4 x 110V 15amp high inrush protected power sockets built in

RS232 connection Interface for networking to pc or laptop hook up.

Yes that pretty much covers it.

the Light II can do all the lighting control of the main ProfiLux controllers as well as control temperature. it also can control Tunze pumps.

Recently the profiLux Light II has also become the master controller for aquarium illuminations LED lighting systems

great news will be looking into getting one for my new setup. i will also have some questions for u about the main unit because i am still undecided between a profilux and ac pro thxs for ur patients and quick responses.

I know you know I will say this, but the profiLux pretty much outways most of its competitors.

Before Plunging into two makes of controllers have a good look through this forum and then please give me a call or email and I can go through personally with you what you want to achieve and what the profilux can do for you.

Taking off the marketing hat, and as a user and reef keeper, the ProfiLux is pretty hard to beat.

As a proud owner of the Profilux Plus II, I too agree that this controller is hard to beat. With all it's functions and expansion capabilities this controller is definitely future proof. Get the Profilux and I'm sure you won't take a look back at the AC Pro.

There's also another benefit to having a Profilux...bragging rights! :D

And remember, if you decide in the future the Light II is fully compatible with the Regular Profilux Plus.
