Question about Marine Expoxy Stick!

We bought J-B Stik to attach the rocks together. I think it's the same as a Marine Epoxy Stick. This is what it says on the package:

I think it is. Just try and tell me what happens. If it is poisinous, your fish will start to shake violently and go to fish heaven...., to be honest, I think its ok, fish suppliers always sale the same stuff as the pumping companies but they just change the label and mark up the price, if u r not sure, u can always call the company that made it

Make sure there is no metal in it. Some of those epoxy sticks are "steel reinforced" or something like that.

I think that is the same stuff I got at the Home Depot. It's green and white. If so, it is fine. I just found that it doesn't like to stick to existing rockwork in my tank. Probably because of the live stuff on the rock such as coralline.

It does say Steel reinforced!!! But it says
Chemical Resistance: Resistance to hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, aqueous salt solutions, and dilute acids and bases.

Don't use it if it says steel reinforced. Home Depot has the Aqua Mend brand (I think that is the one theop is refering to). It is safe to use.

Thanks Gary, I'll take it back, they told me they don't sell any epoxy stick when I called the other day. I just called again, they said they don't carry Aqua Mend brand....I wonder what Theop was referring to. I need to get it done....

I've used Aqua Mend before as well. It is fine and safe to use, but I don't think it sticks as well as the grey two little fishies stuff. It is really not any cheaper either if you order 5 or more sticks of it from marine depot.

I have used about 20 tubes of the Aquamend from home depo with no problems. I am a glutten from rock re-arangement . Its in a seafoam green packaging. I don't think any epoxy sticks well underwater. I have to mold it and stand there on the ladder armpit deep for about 5+ min. holding it in place or it tends to creep off from the weight of the rock or just let the frag kinda slowly fall over. If you don't mind holding it it can make some cool rock work.

I wouldn't mind at all, but I can't find that stuff at HomeDepot!!! They said that they don't carry it.....

Just go look. You gotta think you are asking a kid probably working for minimum wage to lazy to go look.....
I have got it at about 5 different HD's over the past 2 years. But of coarse I may have cleaned the shelf from the HD you asked is why they have none .

I think they may have changed brands. Mine now say VersaChem Magnum-Marine/Plastic Repair Epoxy Stick.

I'll go check that out one of these days. Am working extra hours this month since I asked my boss to give me the schedule cause I wanted to purchase some corals. All thanks to that guy in memphis since he turns around and sold them without even giving me a chance....Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be....

Keep an eye on your skimmer when you use the epoxy. It will drive your skimmer crazy for awhile.

I heard about that....I finally found Aqua Mend Epoxy Stick!!! I'm gonna work on it tomorrow...
