i have 2 250w electronic metal halide ballasts. one of them is firing 1 metal halide bulb but its really dim. its not giving it enough power or something. i pluged that light into the other ballast and it works fine. can i buy some kind of replacement ballast or do i have to buy a whole new 250w ellectronic ballast? what do i do i would hate to but a new one for. this all started during tropical strom fay my power was flickering on and off and then i heard the ballast make a really loud noise and stoped working correctly. and to top it off i was changing my filter pad on my wet dry and i see my perc clown dead he got sucked down the overflow some how:( please help if i cant buy a replacement any body have one for sell that works

I have heard... though I might be wrong... that if you have 2 ballasts plugged into one powerstrip it can diminish the performance of the one furthest down the line from the wall outlet. Like I said.... just something I heard.

have you tried switching bulbs from the know good one to the possibly bad one? if not do that and see if it's the bulb. second thing what kinda of ballast is it? most have low/high voltage protection on them. and third thing is how to you have tem connected to the mogul socket? if you are using wire nuts then check them and let us know the out come

the fan isn't turning on, on the ballast. its not the bulb b/c i pluged the light into a different ballast and it worked fine. im probably just gonna buy a new ballast or a used one.
