Question about nitrate reactor

Hi all,

I have someone that is selling a nitrate rector that uses vodka and wanted to get some feed back on any experience you may have. I'm usually pretty good at finding info, but seem to be hitting a brick wall with this item.

The one in question is made by aquaripure.

Tim,
You can dose vodka to eliminate nitrates, cheapest brand, all it is really is a carbon source.
It will also drop phosphates @ about a 16 -1 ratio nitrates to phosphate.
Once nitrates are gone it does nothing else for phosphates.

Do I need a nitrate filter, or can I make something to dose it myself?

I've been dosing for a month now using just your average 1.1 ML brs doser
