Question about Ocellaris Clown

I just added an Ocellaris to my 130 reef tank, he was added at the same time as a Kole Tang... The tang is doing great, but the clown stays at the top of the tank and only ventures halfway down during feeding time. Any clue what's going on? There is only on other fish in the tank, a small blennie, the rest of the inhabitants are snails, hermits and serpant stars.....oh and the mantis that I can't catch, and kinda like now... Can anyone give me any advice on the Ocellaris?

Two weeks ago, it just seems strange. He stays in the upper corner 95% of the time.

In my experience its normal for them to swim in one spot or back-and-forth against the glass when newly introduced to the aquarium. Give him a month or two to get comfortable. Or maybe he just likes it there.

I had mine doing that too. I believe its a symptom of clown fish disease. Do some research. OR it could be he likes that area like others said.

Mine did the same thing when I first added them. But after about a month they started venturing out of their "favorite" spot.

If your clown is eating ok and doesn't seem to be having trouble breathing or swimming, then he's probably just getting used to the new environment.

It's Brooklynella and it isn't a typical symptom of that disease.

It's common for tank breed clowns to do this for a while, I recommend reducing your photoperiod to 4 hours and move it up and hour each day, it should help, and usually takes a week or more for them to stop.
