Question about Pink Lemonade ...

So i just bougth a Bigggg old acro colony, completely happy with it, dont regret buying it..

i was told it was a Pink Lemonade colony...
but its soo red... i still bought it, cause i liked it the way it looked.. and it was big, and couldnt pass the deal up...

But the previous owner said (he was told) the reason it wasnt yellow with the pruple/pinkish looking polyps is cause he has it so high up in his tank.. below an 8 bulb fixture.. he also told me when he first bought the frag... it had yellow tips..

so my question is, is it possible for Pink Lemonade to turn Red?..

it kind just looks like a red tabling acro/milli to me.. but im not an sps expert, and just kind of want to get more people's opinion.. (im not bashing the person i bought it from as i got respect for him and his tank... and he is a great guy to deal with.. )
 
Doesn't look like a PL..... Not only do they have a greenish/yellow base, but the polyps extend more than that.. After it settle down, if you see short pink polyps along with long white polyps, it's possible. Here's a pic of the one in my tank.

those photos were taken right after introducing it to my tank.. as the lights are off now, and i night gaze the polyps are longer then they are in the photo
 
I kinda' figured that.. Give it some time to settle in and then let's see what ya' got. Either way, it's a NICE Colony!
 
here's a older picture of the colony (in his tank.. top middle.. ) picture was taken some time ago... but even when i went to pic up the colony today it was all red by that time.... but here you see yellow? or white? idk..

Still unsure from the pic, but I'm sure others will chime in. One thing I agree with is that when a coral is blasted with light, it can lose it's deep coloring..
 
That is 100% not tyree pink lemonade. Totally different everything including species.

That one looks like a millepora.
 
Agree with the others. I've never seen a lemonade with thick short tabling branches. Every one I've seen has been the long thin branches.
 
In the second pic the top middle one has the right growth habit. But the coral in the bottom right,2nd pic, looks more like the colony in your first pic. I would agree that the colony in the first pic is not PL.
 
well its a good thing i didnt pay top dollar for this then.. im still happy with it tough as it is a decent sized colony :) and looks nice..
 
It's Red Planet, not pink lemonade. (or a red planet like coral). I've have both a wild and the ORA one.. look just like that.

First and Second is Red Planet,
Third Pic I think is actually Pink Lemoande.
4th Pic.. Red planet on the right, and I believe Pink Lemonade in the middle.

Ok, Saw the pics are from different posters and actually read what everybody wrote. You bought a large colony of red planet.

This is off topic but I was wondering what kind of growth everyone gets with their pink lemonade? Mine seems pretty slow so far.

Had my PL frag about 6 mo's. Mine encrusted the rock I mounted it on at a pretty good pace. Had some tips that seemed to had gone dormant. Snipped those tips about a month ago and it appears to be taking off pretty well. Based on mine I'd say medium/fast grower.
