Question about skimmer design

I need information on my bubble magus nac3.5 skimmer. In the diagram the adjustment handle is hollow and controls flow. Does anyone know if inside that hollow handle is the water being fed into the skimmer chamber with a steady flow without bubbles? Need a place for a salinity probe and my available locations are limited seems like a good location down that tube?

It might restrict the flow out of your skimmer.

That tube controls and is part of the outlet. It is not the inlet.

You can always expect some bubbles in the outlet.

I have never tested it but I believe skimmate includes some salt. If that is the case then the water coming out of the skimmer will have a slightly lower salinity than the water in the tank.

as said above that is the OUTLET of the skimmer. The bottom of the tube is cut at a angle so turning it Will close or open to control the water level in the skimmer body and the water leaving the skimmer....

The skimmer is not a good place for your probe. Find a place in your sump with decent flow and with the least amount of micro bubbles. As others have pointed out, putting anything down that tube will restrict the flow coming out of the skimmer which is counter productive.

Wish I hadn't purchased a closed loop system 15 years ago my DT is "clutter" the only place I can put floats and probes. Think I may have a working solution outside the skimmer box.
