Question about Stand

So I have a 29 gal tank already setup and on a crappy stand right now. I'm thinking about building my own stand. My question is with a tank already setup, Do I need to just make sure all my corners and seems are straight and lined up correctly to make sure there's no bowing or something like that?

Yes, but there could be bowing in the center of the piece of wood you use.
